Good bye bow season...

hello rifle! I look forward to lugging a rifle through the woods instead of my bow. It was, however, it was a good year for me. Two deer and three grouse. Yeah, the deer below took two arrows. Missed the first shot completely, she was too close. I sailed it right ove her back. Dumb deer...The three grouse I shot with the same arrow, on different occasions of course. Now, if I can just get within 400 yards of an elk....Long legged bastards!

400 yards aye...I know you're not a gambling man, but I'll bet you a six-pack of good beer that you can't put a bullet through your standard dinner-sized paper plate at 400 yards.

Whadya say?

We're talking elk here, so a dinner size plate is more like a serving plater. Hell yeah 400 yards! After all, I don't shot a single shot. Tell you what, let's drink a case of Bud Light that you bring, open up the card board box and hang it up at 400 yards. Afterwards, no matter the out come, we can split one of the six-packs of good beer that I bring!

Not tooting my own horn or anything but I shoot a single shot and wouldn't think twice about 400 yards on a deer with a good rest....You'd be surprised what a nice scope can do Ed. You can look up th ballistics charts online for you particular caliber and bullet and know exactly what the drop is. Wouldn't do it on elk though cause my little pea shooter (25-06) dudn't have enough poop out there. I like Walt's idea of the 6 pack...better make it a twelver though.
