Old School

Some Polynesian style hooks.

This shark hook was about 10" tall and about 8" wide. The piece of white material tied on the shank is a piece of coral that they would soak in blood and fat to put some stank on it.
It's hard to tell but I think this shark hook is two piece. The wrap just below the point suggests that it's a scarf joint or something like that.

Supposedly this is like a lure. Bonito are sketchy buggers and this thing imitated baitfish.

All the line is hand braided fiber.
