Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy!

So I just got back from fishing the Henery's Fork the other day and boy is it a good one. Would love to have any of you who can get away for a few days over to go fish. Cathcing trout between 2 and 10 pounds right now and very float able. This river doesn't have heavy whitewater but sure is nice. It will be fishable all the summer of course and just let me know when your on your way. We have a large house with plenty of room so bring on the good times! We even have a hot tub to rest your weary bones in should you forget your geritol! Hope to see you all soon!

Memorial on the Lochsa

What a great time! We had good weather with a little bit of showers on saturday evening and then back to sun. The river was an awesome 6-7 feet, and it stayed relatively the same all weekend. The upper river from whitepine to Wilderness Gateway was large and very crisp, while the bottom run was the typical 6 foot run, clean and worth while! Sure wish you boaters out there would have been able to experience the lochsa on such a great weekend probably the best weekend all year this year until next spring. The videos were great each night as well as they were put on by the camera crews at wilderness gateway group paviallion for everyone to meet and watch, what a great show. For any of you who "ventured" out to the river kudos to you for sticking to your guns and not listening to those nay sayers who thought they knew what was up, but obviously dropped the ball on this one again what a perfect river level for quality crisp rapids. How was that coyote hunting? Just seems as though those who rely on the technology just keep getting bad information to make floating decisions by an missing out on great floats hope the season gets better for you unfortunate souls!

It's at 24,500k right now, that's over ten feet on this chart. No thanks, I think I'll watch the grass grow in my yard this weekend. You boys have fun.

Lochsa memorial weekend

Curious if anyone is planning on heading to the Lochsa this up coming weekend? We are planning on being there from thursday afternoon the 22nd through monday the 26th. The river is looking pretty big right now but it will be coming down somewhat to around 7 feet onthe Lowell bridge. Hope you all can make it over it looks to be a good water level. We are planning on running the upper strech one day and then the lower of course.

Smith River

Snow...snow...snow...love that tipi! Every boat that floated by during a snow squall would say "hey, they have a stove in that tent!". I don't know how I have camped with out this tipi in the past. Starting the day warm and ending it warm, well it's just incredilble. This might be the best piece of gear I own. I know Keith and Art will be buying one.
Fishing was pretty good too.

Little Gem

I'll slide in couple photos before Walt gets back from the Smith...

Found this little gem of a wave about five minutes from the house. No people, no crowds, you can sit on it all night and watch the sunset....life is good!!!

Ed Jr.

Ed Jr. was born on April 23, and came out 8lbs 5oz and was 22 inches long. He is just figuring out that his parents would rather him be awake during the day and sleep at night. He's a good little guy, and I can't wait to teach him how how to row, fish, and appreciate the outdoors. It will also be a great excuse for me to get back into fishing in its purest form....with bait. CHEERS, and hope you all have fun at the Lochsa Rendezvous this weekend.
